The issue of gender inequality is often highlighted within STEM industries (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), with reported figures suggesting:

- Only 11% of the UK’s engineering workforce is female

- Only 16-18% of computer science graduates in the UK and US are female

- Only 20% of technical staff at both Google and Apple are female
 
So why does this gender imbalance exist, and how can we create more inclusive environments that appeal to a wider talent pool? 

We want to establish an accurate picture of gender diversity in STEM sectors, and use this data to inspire positive change.
